BETHEL, Conn. — Heather Hansen O'Neill, who has run Find Your Fire for the past 19 years, is the new executive director of the Bethel Chamber of Commerce.

"I love Bethel and all the wonderful things the Bethel Chamber does for the business community," O'Neill said in an announcement from the chamber. "I am looking forward to meeting our members and finding out you enjoy most and what other support you may need. I will continue to grow and serve the membership."

She will start the week of July 5.

"Heather's skills and experience in strategy, leadership, and team development will lend a valuable perspective to grow and better serve the membership of this valuable organization and community," said Brennan Purdy, chairman of the chamber's board.

O'Neill is a trainer, coach and author. Her company, Find Your Fire , helps business people lead change. She also works with students and facilitates MPI events across the country.

She replaces Bobbi Jo Beers, who announced in May that she was stepping down as executive director.

"We are all sad to see Bobbi Jo Beers go, but wish her well on her new adventure," Purdy said. "We realize that Bobbi Jo has left big shoes to fill; however we are confident that Heather will pick up right where Bobbi Jo left off."

Beers, who owns Traveling Chic Boutique in Bethel, said in announcing her resignation that she will focus on growing her own business and spending more time with her family. She had been with the chamber since 2011.
