Color On Wheels To Hold Daws Fundraiser In Bethel

BETHEL, Conn. -- Join Color on Wheels for a fun-filled day celebrating art and animals on Saturday, May 21 at Bethel Arts to benefit the Danbury Animal Welfare Society (DAWS).

The event from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. will feature an art project for all ages. Whether you are a beginner, advanced, or an extremely talented artist, these events and parties are all about having fun.

Color On Wheels owner Karen Hess adopted her dog Annie from DAWS almost 5 years ago and can't imagine her families life without this loving dog. Inspired by all the volunteers, she decided to host a Color on Wheels fundraiser with DAWS.

The schedule of painting events and age groups include:

Morning:

  • Kids -- Paint a Smiling Kitty or Doggie 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. or 11 a.m. - Noon. Age 5 and older will paint an 8" x 10" Canvasboard with acrylic paint. Three to four-year-olds will paint with watercolors and use a permanent markers.

Afternoon:

  • Paint Your Pet's Portrait, for adults ages 14 plus from 1 to 3 p.m.. Limited to 15 people in each class. 12" x 12" stretched canvas with acrylics. Head portrait only. Email a photo of your pet, after you have registered to hessartstudio@gmail.com.

Evening:

  • Paint & Sip Party For Adults, BYOB & Snacks from 7 to 9 p.m. 12" x 12" stretched canvas with acrylics. 2 paintings will be offered. Paint a Smiling Pittie or Kittie in whatever colors you like.
