Jones went from singing in the Wilton Congregational Church Choir at age 41 to singing professionally with the Seattle Opera, the New York City Opera and many other opera companies.
Additionally, Jones has had many principal soprano roles, including "Aida," "Tosca" and "Turandot" and has performed around the world including Australia, Mexico, Italy, England and Germany.
She was also the first soloist with The Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra not long after it was founded. Her farewell to opera came when she performed Odabella in "Attila" for the City Opera in 1982, following the discovery of her hearing loss.
