It is, after all, a passion. The New Milford resident has been cooking and baking since she was 15 in her native Brazil -- her family owns a restaurant there.

She started off baking breads, cakes and cookies for friends. When she got positive feedback, she approached local stores, which also started selling her wares. In the meantime, she posted photos under the name "Sweet Bakery" on Facebook and Instagram of what she was doing in the kitchen.

It wasn't long before people started asking her if she'd cook something for them.

Now she has a full-fledged business as a personal chef. She travels throughout Fairfield, Putnam, Dutchess and Westchester Counties, basically going to a person's home and cooking meals for one to two weeks -- whatever they want.

"I cater to the client's needs," she said. "Gluten-free, lactose-free, sugar-free, vegetarian, low carb, high carb, alkaline diet and so on.

"I'm all about offering easy, healthy meals that someone just has to heat up in the oven."

She continues to bake on the side and is currently taking international pastry baking classes at Lincoln Culinary Institute.
