All of the proceeds of this fundraiser will be donated and earmarked for 22-year-old Army Ranger Sean Pesce’s home being built in West Haven.

The contest is for all children (age newborn to 4 years). The winning child and his or her family are featured in the Newtown Labor Day Parade riding in a convertible sent by Mercedes of Danbury, as the “Beautiful Baby Winner."

The child doesn't need to live in Newtown to enter to win. To enter the contest, send a $10 check made payable to “Homes For Our Troops” and a 4" x 4” photo (cut a 4" x 6”) with baby’s name, contact phone number, and contact email address written clearly on the back to: Baby Contest c/o Lois Barber 33 Zoar Road, Sandy Hook, CT, 06482.

All information on the back of the photo is blacked out with permanent marker before the voting booth goes to Stop & Shop or any other location. The voting booth will be at various locations throughout Newtown, starting with the Lion’s Club Duck Race.

Soldiers receive a handicap house through Homes For Our Troops, a nonprofit organization building specially adapted, mortgage-free homes nationwide for the most severely injured veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan. The goal of the organization is to enable them to rebuild their lives.
