BETHEL, Conn. — The Friday snow may have come as a surprise to some in Bethel — but the sheer amount of it was a surprise to nearly everyone.
Heavy snow began to fall before dawn, closing schools and making for slow travel conditions.
But by late morning Friday, downtown Bethel had sprung to life as residents and businesses began to dig out — even as the snow continued to fall.
About 4 to 6 inches of snow was recorded in northern Fairfield County.
And despite the snowy start to the day, by Friday afternoon, the sun was out and and the skies were clear.
