Bethel Restructures Town's Social Services Department

BETHEL, Conn. – The Social Services Department in Bethel is making some changes to better address its mission of helping others.

The department has promoted Lisa Plumb, who was the former director of the Senior Center, to community services director. And it has hired Jennifer Lawlor for the new position of social services Director, the News-Times reported.

The town’s Social Services Department has been struggling with a small budget, residents still burdened by the 2008 Great Recession, and part-time leadership since the retirement of the previous director, according to the News-Times.
