WESTON, Conn. — A trio of Bridgeport burglars were sentenced to four years in jail after breaking into a Weston home last September and fleeing into the woods, according to the Stamford Advocate.

On the afternoon of Sept. 28, 2016, a resident of a home on Hidden Spring Drive in Weston returned home to find three people breaking into his home, according to police. The three burglars, identified as Francis Tarik, 18, Leequaje Jackson, 21, and Cameron King, 17, of Bridgeport, fled on foot, leaving their car in the driveway, police said.

Police responded to the area and eventually located the three suspects in a nearby woods. They were charged with home invasion, third-degree burglary, and third-degree larceny.

According to the Stamford Advocate, the home invasion charges were reduced to first-degree burglary and larceny charges, which eliminated a 10-year minimum sentence that would have been handed down. The three instead received sentences of four years in prison, followed by seven years of special parole, the Stamford Advocate reported.
