A lone gunman killed 20 first-graders and six educators on Dec. 14, 2012, at Sandy Hook Elementary School. Kim Snyder, whose "Newtown" documentary premiered this past weekend at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah, had access to many of the victims' friends and family members in making her film.

Snyder told CNN earlier this week that those types of comments only speaks to the insensitivity and the desensitization surrounding the issue of mass shootings, said CNN Politics.
