BETHEL, Conn. -- Railroad commuters in Bethel could be in for a temporary parking headache as Connecticut will begin expansion of the town's Metro-North Station next week.

According to a post on the Facebook page of the Bethel Town Clerk, there will be several phases to the project, and parking spaces will be limited and available only to permit holders. Commuters without an annual permit will not be permitted to use the lot until construction is completed.

The anticipated date of completion is Nov. 1. When completed, the lot will double in size, there will be kiosks to purchase daily permits electronically and other enhancements.

Until the completion, free parking is available at the Municipal Center in the town lot off of Wooster Street. The other option is to utilize stations in neighboring towns, such as West Redding or Danbury.
