NEWTOWN, Conn. -- Now that the Newtown Legislative Council has approved a budget to send to a referendum later this month, Newtown residents will have a chance to vote on the proposed $114 budget plan during the presidential primary on April 26, according to WLAD.com.
The budget represents a 1.62 percent increase over last year. The town budget is $40.5 million of the total $114 million budget, with the education budget at $73.6 million, comprising the rest, said WLAD.com.
Voters who need absentee ballots can pick them up at the Town Clerk's Office, added WLAD.com.
