NEWTOWN, Conn. — Residents of Newtown approved a $40.5 million municipal budget and a $73.66 million school budget in a vote Tuesday, according to the WLAD website.
The municipal budget was approved 2,765 to 2,288, while the school budget was approved 2,730 to 2,320, WLAD said.
Overall, there is a 1.6 percent spending increase in the budget, according to First Selectman Pat Llodra.
