NEWTOWN, Conn. -- A new community center will soon be under construction at the Fairfield Hills campus following approval by Newtown residents, according to WLAD.com.
The new center, which must first be sent out for bid and designed, will be 13,00 square feet and include a zero-entry pool with eight lanes, said WLAD.com.
The center will be built with $10 million donated by General Electric for the project, in addition to $5 million in bond money. Another $5 million from GE will be used to operate the facility, added WLAD.com.
