One Killed, Two Seriously Injured In Fairfield County Police Chase Crash

One person was killed and two others suffered serious, life-threatening injuries in a rollover crash following a police pursuit Thursday night in Fairfield County.

The crash occurred on northbound Route 8 in the area of Exit 5 in Bridgeport after a 2016 Toyota 4runner hit a guardrail, went down the embankment and slammed into two trees, state police said. 

The three occupants were hospitalized with serious and life-threatening injuries. 

Corbin Cooper, 18, of Bridgeport died as a result of his injuries. He was a passenger in the right front seat.

The two seriously injured are Luke Jones, 18, and Najee Hunter, 16, of Stratford.

The driver of the vehicle, 15-year-old Louis Valentine from Bridgeport, suffered minor injuries.

Guns were recovered in the vehicle following the crash, according to Bridgeport Police.

The Bridgeport Police Department was in pursuit of the vehicle prior to the crash.

No injuries were reported to responding police officers.
