NEWTOWN, Conn. — A 27-year-old town woman was killed in a motorcycle crash Sunday evening on Currituck Road, Newtown police said.
The driver and only occupant of the 2010 Harley Davidson was identified as Jaclyn Ann Schultz, police said.
Schultz, of 1 Brookwood Drive, was transported from the scene by the Newtown Ambulance but was pronounced deceased at Danbury Hospital as a result of her injuries, police said. She was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash of the 2010 Harley-Davidson Sportster, police said.
Police responded to the accident scene at 7:47 p.m. Sunday near 64 Currituck Road, police said.
The Sportster was the only vehicle involved in the crash into a utility pole, police said..
Officer have spoken to several witnesses to the crash, police said. The accident remains under investigation, police said.
It was the second fatal motorcycle crash in less than a week in Newtown. Martin V. Amidon IX, 37, of Newtown, died late Tuesday afternoon in motorcycle crash at 195 Riverside Road in Sandy Hook, police said. He was the bass players for the Alpaca Gnomes, a Bridgeport-based indie band.
On Jan. 19, 42-year-old Michael Defusco of Southbury was killed in a motorcycle crash on Mt. Pleasant Road/Route 25 in the area of Reservoir Road, police said. He was thrown from his 2011 Harley Street Glide and was pronounced dead at the scene.
