NEW MILFORD, Conn. — A 45-year-old Bethel man is facing multiple charges after attacking people he knew in a New Milford home late Wednesday, according to the News-Times.
Mark Benoit was charged with home invasion, stalking, third-degree assault and interfering with a police officer and held on $300,000 bond Thursday, the News-Times reported.
Benoit fought with the residents and with police who responded before he was taken into custody with the help of a police K-9, the News-Times said.
His attorney said he abusing alcohol and Klonopin, used to treat anxiety disorders and panic attacks, at the time of the home invasion, the story said.
