Bridgeport Man Suspected In Burglary Attempt Tracked Down By Police K9

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — A 26-year-old Bridgeport man was arrested after he attempted to break into a car and then was tracked down by a police K9 as he hid in a yard, Milford police said.

At 2:37 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 8, officers responded to a report of a possible burglary on Bridgeport Avenue near Ellis Street in Milford, police said. 

A resident saw a man attempting to go through a vehicle to take items on Berwyn Street, police said. The local resident contacted the police while following the suspect onto Bridgeport Avenue, police said.

With the help of the Stratford Police K-9 team, officers tracked down the suspect, Lawrence Daddario, of 447 Brooks St., police said. Daddario was found hiding in a yard on Housatonic Drive, police said.

Daddario was charged with third-degree burglary, third-degree criminal attempt at burglary, and interfering/resisting arrest. 

He was released on a promise to appear in court on Oct. 31.
