Brookfield Firefighters Respond To Smoke-Filled Home

BROOKFIELD, Conn. — It was a happy ending as the Brookfield Volunteer Fire Department responded to smoky conditions at a home on Oak Grove Road on Thursday morning but found no fire.  At 8 a.m., firefighters from both companies responded and found the house was filled with smoke, according to a Facebook post.

The residents had safely already evacuated the home, the post said. 

Shortly thereafter, firefighters discovered the source of the problem in the basement and determined there was no fire. 

Firefighters helped to ventilate the house of smoke before placing the incident under control. 

No injuries were reported.
