New York State Police trooper received a report from Danbury Hospital, where a patient came in at 3:15 a.m. Sunday with multiple stab wounds.

During the investigation, police said it was determined that the victim was assaulted by a co-worker in Somers. Police said 38-year-old Ardijan Taraku of Scarsdale, N.Y., was involved in a physical altercation with his victim behind the restaurant, stabbing him repeatedly with the wine bottle opener.

Taraku was arrested and charged with a felony count of second-degree assault and criminal possession of a weapon, a misdemeanor. He was arraigned in the Town of Somers Justice Court and released on his own recognizance. Taraku is scheduled to appear back in court later this year to answer the charges.

Police did not release the name of the Somers restaurant.
