The Pack, which serves children in the St. Rose of Lima School and the greater Newtown community, is made up of students in the first through fifth grades.

According to the police department's Facebook page, the tour is just the latest effort made by Newtown officers to connect with the youth of the community and others.

Earlier in the month, the department's Newtown Student Police Academy at Newtown High School had the opportunity to ride the "Bearcat" armored truck used by the Danbury Regional Emergency Services Unit.

The Department also is involved in a fundraiser later this month for the Special Olympics.

The latest effort with the Cub Scouts was popular on the social network, garnering 32 "likes" and "loves" from Newtown police friends.
