BETHEL, Conn. -- A Bethel man was arrested in Danbury as part of a statewide initiative targeting narcotics dealers who distribute heroin, opioids or Fentanyl causing death or serious injury to users, according to the NewsTimes.

Police said Ryan Budd, 25, who was arrested March 9, was accused of selling heroin to a 25-year-old woman who had two non-fatal overdoses earlier this year, said the NewsTimes.

Danbury police officers said they found the woman while conducting a welfare check in a restroom at the Mobil One Stop gas station at 276 White St., Danbury at about 11:40 p.m. March 1, reported the NewsTimes. According to police, the woman was on her knees, with her face on the floor and holding a syringe, added NewsTimes.

Budd has been charged with distribution of heroin and possession of narcotics with intent to distribute, according to the NewsTimes. He is scheduled to appear May 23 in federal court in New Haven, said the NewsTimes.
