BETHEL, Conn. — A driver was killed late Monday when his car went off Route 53 in Bethel, slammed into a tree and erupted in flames, according to the News-Times.
The crash happened at about 11:30 p.m. near the Redding border, the News-Times said. The man, whose identity was withheld, was extricated him from the car but died at Danbury Hospital, the story said.
