BETHEL, Conn. -- Firefighters in Bethel quickly knocked down a fire in a basement on Katrina Circle early Friday morning.

Both Bethel and Stony Hill firefighters responded to the scene.

At around 4:20 a.m. both the Bethel and Stony Hill Fire Departments were dispatched to combat heavy smoke in the basement of the home. Upon arrival, command called a working fire. Crews quickly knocked down the fire and worked on overhaul.

The work of both fire departments kept the fire confined to a portion of the basement.
