The event held last month honored the memory of Steve Ketchum, a retired Newtown police officer, who died of cancer in March.

Attendees were asked to vote for "Top Dog." The police dog receiving the most votes would receive the award in honor of  Ketchum's contributions to the department.

The competition consisted of five events, and K-9 Murphy won the agility course, the gunfire course, the fastest dog competition and the overall "Top Dog" award.
