Kayaker Rescued After Being Stranded Overnight At Lighthouse Off Norwalk

NORWALK, Conn. — A kayaker who was stranded overnight at the  Greens Ledge Lighthouse off the coast of Norwalk was rescued Sunday morning, according to NBC Connecticut.

The kayaker had left from Oyster Bay, N.Y., on Saturday afternoon was reported missing by his roommate, NBC Connecticut said. 

The Coast Guard got the call at about 11:40 a.m. Sunday about the kayaker, who told rescuers that his boat was taking on water and he became stranded around midnight, NBC said.

The man was taken to the hospital for treatment of possible hypothermia — the water temperate was in the mid-60s when he was rescued, NBC Connecticut said.
