Man Busted On Weapons Charges At Newtown Church Carnival

NEWTOWN, Conn. -- A Sandy Hook man was arrested on weapons charges Friday following a fight during a church carnival in Newtown for the use of a Taser, according to police.

James Eugene Stiles, 18, was arrested after Newtown police responded to the St. Rose Church on Church Hill Road after receiving reports of a fight involving a Taser. 

When police arrived they found Stiles and an unidentified juvenile had a verbal dispute and had pulled out the Taser, according to police reports.

Stiles was arrested and charged with possession of a dangerous weapon and breach of the peace. He was released on $500 bail and is scheduled to appear in Danbury Superior Court on July 7, police said.

The 14-year-old was also arrested and charged with breach of peace. He was released into the custody of his parents and is scheduled to appear in court on July 11, police said.
