Newtown Arrest: Speeding Driver Arrested On Drug Possession Charges

NEWTOWN, Conn. — A Ridgefield man was arrested on drug possession charges after being stopped for speeding by Newtown Police on Mount Pleasant Road on June 21, according to police.

Dylan Rene Declercq, 27, was stopped after police said they observed him speeding and passing cars in a no-passing zone. 

After being stopped, police learned that Declercq was driving on a suspended license and was in possession of marijuana, police said.

He was charged with posesson of narcotics, possession of a controlled substance, illegal storing of narcotics, illegal passing and operating a vehicle without a driver's license, police said. 

Declercq was released on $500 bail and is scheduled to appear in Danbury Court on July 7.
