Stephen Violet, 19, of 1 Underhill Road, Sandy Hook, was arrested Wednesday on three charges each of first-degree robbery and first degree conspiracy to commit robbery. He's also charged with first-degree threatening and six larceny charges.

Jimmie Springer, 24, of Stamford is facing robbery and larceny charges as well.

Each was held on $225,000 bond.

Two weeks ago, Anthony Thompkins, 25, of Sheridan Street, Norwalk, was arrested on first-degree robbery charges and other theft-related charges in connection with the robberies at Shorehaven Mobil gas station, Rainbow News & Variety and Brothers J&M grocery store.

Matera cited the work of Detectives John Sura, John Taranto and Daniel Fitzmaurice in the investigation.

Thompkins was already in custody on other charges.

He, along with Springer and Violet, were arrested on drug and weapons charges after a Norwalk Police officer, acting on a report of a suspicious vehicle on Jan. 22, found marijuana, a stolen Smith & Wesson handgun and a facsimile handgun in the vehicle they were in, police said.

A fourth individual, Adam Robertson of Newtown, was also in the car and arrested.

In the robberies, two armed men wearing ski masks entered the 219 East Ave. gas station on Jan. 6 at about 11:50 p.m., pulled out handguns and ordered the employees to the ground, police said. Five days later, two men also wearing ski masks and displaying handguns robbed the Brothers J&M grocery store at 9 Bouton St. at 9:45 p.m., police said. They fled with some cash, police said.

On Jan. 14, two armed men entered Rainbow News & Variety at 205 Main Ave. and robbed the business of cash after they pointed guns at a store employee, police said.
