Ridgefield Man Faces Charges After Car Chase In Bethel

BETHEL, CONN. -- A 23-year-old Ridgefield man is facing several criminal charges, including drug charges, after Bethel police said he led them on an erratic car chase while hanging out the window, waving and yelling, according to WLAD-AM.

Paul Denis is charged with several charges, including DWI, reckless driving, possession of marijuana and interfering with an officer, WLAD-AM reported. He was taken to Danbury Hospital for evaluation, and due back in court July 1, WLAD-AM said.

Bethel police told WLAD-AM that they received 911 calls about erratic driving in the Route 53 area at about 5 p.m. Tuesday. Officers followed the truck in a low-speed chase and finally caught up with him at Overlook Park, where he tried to flee on foot, WLAD-AM says.
