David Pollitt, of River Road, was charged with failure to register as a sex offender after he moved back to Connecticut from Georgia, police said.

In the 1980s, Pollitt was sentenced to 45 years in prison for a series of rapes in the New London and Rocky Hill areas, according to the Connecticut Post. He was released after serving 24 years in prison, the Post said.
