State Police: Driver Shot On Route 8 In Bridgeport

UPDATED: BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — Connecticut State Police are investigating after a man was shot Wednesday morning while driving on Route 8 in Bridgeport.

The shooting occurred at about 11 a.m. between Exits 3 and 5, according to the Connecticut Post. 

At about 11:20 a.m., state police troopers from Troop G in Bridgeport responded to St. Vincent’s Hospital in Bridgeport after hospital staff reported that a male walked into the Emergency Department with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. 

The male reported that the incident occurred on Route 8 southbound in the Bridgeport area, state police spokesman Kelly Grant said. 

"There is no threat to the public as this does not appear to be a random act or road rage-related," Grant said.
