Brookfield Police are urging residents to always lock their cars and secure valuables.

"This is especially important at this time of year when we are hurried shopping and are more likely to have items in our cars that would attract thieves," police said. "Please take the extra few minutes to secure gifts and valuables in your trunks and lock your vehicles."

Anyone with information about the thefts on Tuesday morning is asked to contact the Brookfield Police Department at (203) 775-2575.
