Dimitrios G. Tsimis, 32, of Norwalk and Shaina L. Piermattel, 28, of Danbury, were busted when officers stopped their vehicle on Feb. 14 for a moving violation on Danbury Road, said Lt. Robert S. Kluk.

During the stop, officers noticed three wax folds and a cut straw with powder residue under Piermattel's right thigh, Kluk said.

A search of the vehicle turned up crack cocaine and a heroin pipe, he added.

Tsimis, who failed a field sobriety test, was charged with possession of narcotics and DUI. Piermattel was charged with possession of narcotics and tampering with evidence after officers found her hiding additional drugs during a body search at police headquarters, Kluk said.

Tsimis was released on $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear Feb. 26. Piermattel was released on $7,500 bond and is scheduled to appear on Feb. 27.
