The attack occurred just after midnight during an “old-fashioned girl fight,” said Sgt. Jennifer Pinto

According to Pinto, the victim was standing at the bar of Hudson Grille waiting for a drink when one of the women, Patty Galindo, 22, of Bridgeport, kept bumping into her back.

The victim asked Galindo to stop and that’s when Galindo hauled off and punched her in the mouth, Pinto said.

The victim fell to the floor and a friend of Galindo’s, Wendy Prokopluk, 28, of Stamford, jumped in and a fight broke out, Pinto said.

When police arrived, the victim had gone to Stamford Hospital for treatment, but Galindo and Prokopluk were outside of the Hudson Grille, Pinto said.

Both were intoxicated and uncooperative with police, she added.

Police were able to locate the woman who was attacked at the hospital where she was being treated for minor injuries and take her statement.

Galindo was charged with assault and breach of the peace, while Prokopiuk was charged with breach of peace and interfering with police. Both were released on their own recognizance.
