Woman Faces Charges Of Assaulting Newtown Officers

NEWTOWN — A Naugatuck woman is facing assault charges after being accused of hitting two police officers and trying to escape from a holding cell, according to the News-Times.

Paula Wickman, 28, was charged Tuesday night with four counts of assault on a police officer, one count of third-degree criminal mischief and one count of interfering with an officer, the News-Times reported. 

Wickman was pulled over by police after she was observed driving erratically and failed a field sobriety test, according to the News-Times. She was charged with driving while intoxicated, and while waiting to be picked up at Newtown police headquarters, she allegedly attacked the officers, the News-Times reported.
