Newtown High's Class Of 2017 Steps Off For Graduation Today

NEWTOWN, Conn. — Newtown High will say goodbye to the Class of 2017 as the graduates step off for their graduation ceremony on Tuesday afternoon. 

The Newtown High School graduation ceremony will be held Tuesday at the O'Neill Center at Western Connecticut State University.

The commencement ceremonies are scheduled for 4 p.m. June 13 at The O'Neill Center on the campus of Western Connecticut State University, 43 Lake Ave. Ext., Danbury.

The valedictorian is Simran Chand, who will attend the University of Pennsylvania in the fall. Jordan Solomon Klein, the salutatorian, will attend the University of California at Berkeley.

Newtown Middle School will hold two moving up ceremonies on Wednesday, June 14, inside the Newtown High School gym. The first ceremony will begin at 4:30 p.m. and the second at 7:15 p.m. Tickets are required.

Newtown students will be on early dismissal for the rest of the week, Tuesday through Thursday, the last days of school. Visit newtown.k12.ct.us for dismissal times.
