Rowers From Fairfield Get National Attention

Three rowers from Connecticut, including a pair of high school students from Ridgefield and Wilton, received silver medals on Sunday, June 10 for their stellar performance at the U.S. Rowing Youth National Championships.

Nicholas Salazar of Ridgefield and Oliver Peacock of Wilton competed in the A finals of the Men's Varsity Quad (4x) with the GMS Rowing Center of New MIlford, CT.

The other two members of the four-man crew that placed second nationally were Jeffrey Schlyer of Milford in Litchfield County and Robby Schetlick of Bronxville in Westchester County, NY.

Last weekend's competition was on Lake Natoma in Gold River, Calif., and sponsored by Rancho Cordova Travel & Tourism.
