Tuckahoe's Tentative Budget Calls For Tax Cut, Highlights Financial Status EASTCHESTER, N.Y. – The Eastchester village of Tuckahoe has released a tentative budget that lowers property tax rates for residents and businesses. While the $12.4 million spending plan calls for a 1.14 percent tax levy increase, which falls below the state cap of 1.15 percent, it represents a decrease in the proposed tax rate, per $1,000, of 1.37 percent, the village said. The current total tax levy is $7,785,807; the projected levy is $7,874,919. Revenues other than taxes totaled $4,502,035 in fiscal year 2016-2017. This coming year, they are estimated at $4,544,057. Man Jumped Bail In Yorktown, Police Say Yorktown police say they have arrested a 25-year-old Yonkers man who was wanted for failing to appear in court in a drug case last fall. Robert M. Loftus was supposed to appear in Yorktown Justice Court in October, police said. When he didn't show up, Loftus was charged with third-degree bail jumping, a misdemeanor, police said. Loftus turned himself in at Yorktown police headquarters on Thursday, March 16. He was released on his own recognizance and is due to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on Thursday, March 30.
