3-Car Crash Cleared From I-84 In Danbury

update: The crash scene has been cleared as of 9:20 a.m. Monday. Traffic began to return to normal before 10 a.m.

DANBURY, Conn. — A three-car crash is closing two lanes of I-84 westbound in Danbury and causing lengthy traffic delays Monday morning, according to the Connecticut Department of Transportation.

The accident is between Exits 6 and 5, DOT said. The left and right lanes are closed in the area.

The crash was reported at 8:30 a.m., DOT said.

DOT traffic maps showed backups through Danbury and back into Newtown.

It was not known when the crash would be cleared.
