FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Rain and storms are expected to hit Fairfield County on Friday morning and continue throughout the day ahead of a mostly clear weekend.

Multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms will move through the region Friday, according to the National Weather Service. Thunderstorms are expected to hit after 10 a.m., potentially bringing heavy rain, and will get more severe this afternoon. Some of the storms could produce gusty, damaging winds, and also pose a threat for flash flooding. The high will be near 81.

Showers and thunderstorms will continue into Friday night, mainly before midnight. The chance of gusty winds and heavy rain will also continue. There is also the possibility of patchy fog after 2 a.m. The low Friday night will be around 71.

There is a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before noon on Saturday, as well as some the possibility of patchy fog before 9 a.m. Otherwise Saturday will be cloudy, and then gradually become more sunny. The high will be near 86. Saturday night will see a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 2 a.m., but will otherwise be partly cloudy with a low around 66.

Sunday will be sunny, with a high near 84. Sunday night will be mostly clear, with a low around 64.

Conditions should be fine for viewing the eclipse on Monday. The day will be sunny, with a high near 87.
