Rain To Clear Up In Time For Thanksgiving In Newtown

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Rain is expected to hit Fairfield County through much of Wednesday morning, but it is expected to clear up for a sunny and chilly Thanksgiving.

The rain will begin to taper off around 11 a.m. Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service. The temperature will rise to near 52 by 11 a.m., then drop to around 45 during the remainder of the day. There will be a northwest wind between 12 and 17 mph, with gusts up to 25 mph Wednesday afternoon.

It will cool down to a low around 23 during the night, which will be mostly clear. There will be a northwest wind between 7 and 17 mph.

Thanksgiving will be sunny, with a high near 41, though wind chill values will be between 15 and 25. There will be a light wind around 7 mph. Thursday night will be partly cloudy, with a low around 30, and wind chill values between 25 and 30.

Temperatures will warm up a little to a high near 46 on Friday, which is expected to be sunny. Friday night will be mostly clear, with a low around 35.

Saturday will be mostly sunny, with a high near 53. It will be partly cloudy on Saturday night, when the low will be around 35. Sunday will also be mostly sunny, with a high near 42.
