Winter Weather Advisory Issued For Friday In Fairfield County

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- That National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Friday through Saturday morning, as freezing rain is expected to hit Fairfield County.

The advisory is in effect from 1 p.m. Friday to 10 a.m. Saturday. Precipitation will likely start as light snow and sleet Friday afternoon, before transitioning to light freezing rain Friday evening. A few tenths of an inch of snow and sleet are possible, before the transition to freezing rain.

The ice will result in difficult travel conditions, including for the Friday evening commute. Total ice accumulations could be up to one tenth of an inch.

The high on Friday afternoon will be near 37, with wind chill values between 25 and 30. The low Friday night will be 34. 

Rain is likely to continue into Saturday morning, with freezing rain before 7 a.m. The high will be near 45, with wind chill values between 30 and 40.
