Bobbi Jo Beers announced her resignation but agreed to stay on full time until Summer Fest, said the statement from Brennan Purdy, chairman of the Board of the chamber.

Beers will also be available as needed until the chamber finds a replacement, Purdy said.

"Those of us who have been lucky enough to work with Bobbi Jo know how much time and effort she put into her role with the Chamber," Purdy said. "I have seen many positive changes in the community and at chamber events thanks to her careful and thoughtful planning."

Beers, who owns Traveling Chic Boutique in Bethel, will focus on "growing her own business and spending more time with her family," the statement said.

She has been with the chamber since 2011.
