Stop & Shop In Danbury Raises More Than $3K To Combat Hunger

DANBURY, Conn. -- Danbury Stop & Shop's associates and customers raised $3,058 to help fight hunger in the community, the Stop & Shop Supermarket Co. recently announced.

The money was raised through the sale of specially designed donation cards and fundraising events held from Nov. 1 through Nov. 24 at the store. The money will be donated to the Association of Religious Communities Inc.

The donation is part of the Stop & Shop Supermarket Co.’s 2016 Food for Friends in-store campaign, which helped raise $275,421 across several states to provide hunger relief to area residents. Together with a corporate match, Stop & Shop will donate $354,421 to local and regional food banks.
