'Celebrate Sandy Hook' With Outdoor Concert In Newtown

NEWTOWN, Conn. – The Sandy Hook Organization for Prosperity invites the public to “Celebrate Sandy Hook,” an outdoor concert on Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Village Green, 5 Glen Road in Sandy Hook, behind the Village Perk Café.

Rising country recording star Tat Holler will perform along with students from the Reed Intermediate School choir. Concertgoers will also have the opportunity to purchase Celebrate Sandy Hook concert t-shirts, as well as raffle tickets to win tickets to see performances by Brantley Gilbert, Dierks Bentley, Toby Keith and Greg Allman/ZZ Top at the Xfinity Theater in Hartford.

“We invite one and all to come and celebrate Sandy Hook and its unique historic heritage and beautiful natural setting,” said SHOP President Joe Hemingway.

Come early and dine in one of various restaurants, Cover Two, Figs Wood Fired Bistro, Foundry Kitchen & Tavern, Nouveau Monde Wine Bar, The Villa Restaurant, Village Perk Café, then set up a chair by the riverside and enjoy the music and festive atmosphere.

SHOP has been instrumental in supporting the Sandy Hook Village community and business district by implementing ongoing revitalization, marketing, business growth, philanthropy, advocacy and arts and culture initiatives since the 80s. The group’s mission is to promote the village as a family friendly, pedestrian-oriented community within Newtown, which celebrates Sandy Hook’s unique historic heritage and natural setting. SHOP board members are made up of local Sandy Hook residents, storefront property owners and local business owners.
