NEWTOWN, Conn. -- Newtown Congregational Church will host a special breakfast gathering for the community in honor of the Ana Grace Project in December, according to the Newtown Bee.
The event, held in memory of Ana Grace Marquez-Greene, who was killed during the Sandy Hook Elementary School shootings in 2012, will be from 9 to 11 a.m., Dec.2, at the church, said the Newtown Bee.
The morning will feature a keynote speech by Dr. Bruce Perry, author and senior fellow, ChildTrauma Academy. Perry is expected to speak on the theme, “Love Wins: Love Is The Antidote — How Deepening Connections and Relationships Transform Families and Communities,” said the Newtown Bee.
Perry’s presentation will be followed by a Q&A with the audience, and further discussion.All members of the community are invited.
The community breakfast will be followed on Thursday, Dec. 3, by the Love Wins Mental Health Conference. The daylong event, to be held at Western Connecticut State University, will focus on building community and creating interpersonal connection to prevent violence and promote recovery, reported the Newtown Bee.
