Ridgefield's Southwest Café Presents 10th Annual Margarita 5K

RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- The Margarita 5K returns to Ridgefield for the 10th annual edition of the race to benefit disabled adults in Fairfield County.

The Margarita 5K will begin at 7 p.m. on Aug. 1 at the Southwest Café, 109 Danbury Rd., Ridgefield.

Proceeds from the event benefit Ridgefield Sunset Cottage Inc., a residence for disabled members of the community.

The Margarita 5K course is flat and scenic through the quiet streets of Ridgefield. The first 300 runners to register receive free T-shirts. Racers must be at least 21 years old. Southwest Café will give a free margarita to all runners after the race.

Cost to register is $30 and can be done online at clubct.org. More information on Sunset Cottage is available at ridgefieldsunrisecottage.org.
