Chuck's Steakhouse, Danbury

What Makes It A Cut Above: "We've been here 44 years serving top-quality steaks and seafood in the only dining room in the area that has a salad bar and grill where patrons can come up and see steaks cooking. That makes us a little different than everybody else," said Ed Stock, Chuck's manager for 27 years.

Also worth mentioning: The hand-cut and aged Midwestern grain-fed beef, boneless chicken breast, seafood, shellfish, burgers, and sandwiches.

Chuck's opened long before Danbury Fair Mall which is close by, one of just three restaurants at the time, including two on Mill Plain Road. The steakhouse is still run by the same partners, though, sadly, Founder Henry Zaccara died in June 2015.
