Anthony Alfredo, 19, a native of  Ridgefield,  competes in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series for MDM Motorsports.

He will be racing close to home for the first time in his career this Saturday night, July 14, at Thompson Speedway in Thompson, CT.

It is just over two hours from Ridgefield and Alfredo said: "It would be a fantastic way to catch your first NASCAR race in person with your friends and family. Kids will absolutely love it and any age group will appreciate the nail-biting excitement stock car racing provides."

NASCAR K&N Pro Series qualifying begins at 5 p.m. on Saturday with driver autograph sessions following at 6:15 p.m. and the race starts about 7:15 p.m.

Alfredo recently competed in his ARCA Racing Series debut at Gateway Motorsports Park just outside of St. Louis, where he placed an impressive seventh.

Alfredo has emerged as one of the brightest prospects for future NASCAR Cup Series stardom. He was selected to drive for Dale Earnhardt, Jr.’s JR Motorsports team in the Late Model division of the ultra-competitive CARS Tour in 2017, and finished a close second in the championship to a much more experienced teammate, Josh Berry.
