According to the infotainment website RoadSnacks.com, nine of the Top 10 of the Snobbiest Places in Connecticut are in Fairfield County.

Here is the list, in order, from RoadSnacks.com:

  • No. 1: Darien,
  • No. 2: Greenwich,
  • No. 3: Old Greenwich,
  • No. 4: Weston,
  • No. 5: New Canaan,
  • No. 6: Westport,
  • No. 7: Wilton,
  • No. 8: Riverside, and
  • No. 9: Cos Cob.
Though Old Greenwich, Riverside and Cos Cob are all part of Greenwich, they were considered separately because they have their own U.S. Census Bureau entries, RoadSnacks says. No. 10 is Simsbury, a Hartford suburb in the Farmington Valley.

RoadSnacks' criteria for snobbiness included: median home price; median household income; percent of population with a college degree; private schools per capita; theaters per capita; and art galleries per capita.
